Here are my August pages in my Currently Workbook. Watch it unfold on the video above.
In August, we closed out the Summer with a family trip to the Trinity River. That’s what inspired my pages.
Being on the water and going with the flow was much needed. We were surrounded by dragonflies and water sparkles while kayaking and boating. I loved every second of it.
I pulled the river card when we got back. How appropriate! We had all kinds of astrological events this month.
Here’s me trying to find the light.
This one includes black gesso & pastels.
School started this month- I cannot believe I have a sophomore in high school!
With a new school year and schedule, we are getting into the swing of things. There have been a lot of early wakeups the past few weeks and I AM WIPED OUT. It’s been wild to see how fast time flies.
Let’s get into it. Here are some good things that happened this month!
I turned 45 in August. Something about the number 5 that makes me feel things. I spent a lot of this month in introspection. Birthdays make me miss my Mom. It’s Ok. I kept grief weird! I feel lucky to be alive and to see my child grow.
This is my abundance spell for this year.
This month I put together manifestation kits for my Etsy. I released them on my birthday. Making them felt like I was making party favors.
I hope you get that vibe when you use them. I will show you more of how I use each part in the next few months. Stay tuned.
I shared my morning pages ritual. I am ready to get back to it. I just needed to get my child off to school first.
I did a Joy Lab silent disco dance inside Target with Michell of Thrive Girl for funsies. Dancing in public during the day is a particular kind of rush! I danced in the frozen section. Then I shopped for back-to-school supplies afterward. You know, just a casual Saturday.
I watched my front yard fill in with growth. This year we brought a bird bath into the garden (I always wanted one!) that welcomed turkeys and foiled some flower plans. The turkeys, along with a family of deer displaced sprinklers. That mixed with a hot day messed up some plant starts. Oh well. Rocks were collected on river adventures and put into new places. Animals have other plans. This year was weird. There’s proof.
I still found the light. I wrote that on the wall in chalk…
Went to a couple of parties. Brought some magic with me. It was so nice to connect.
Enjoyed a few movie nights and caught up on journaling with The Hope Circuit!

pages from my hobonichi cousin for I LOVE LISTS this month:
We put out three episodes of Keep Grief Weird in August! YAY. I really enjoyed making #16 where we read/answered our listener letters. We got to chat about the old days of AOL which provided a lot of laughs. I love working with and learning from MC! I am so glad you do too.
We are starting to put together video episodes for our paid subscribers on Substack!
Song on repeat:
This whole album, really. I GOT SUPER HOOKED ON IT at the beginning of the month. Have you seen her Tiny Desk Concert?
I ate the random tomatoes that grew in my beds this year. Nature is doing whatever it pleases.
I am looking forward to that rogue delicata squash popping out from my compost pile.
Banana Oat Cookies became my hyperfixation food. They came into my life via my friend Judy. Thanks for being my surrogate Mom, Judy. Thank you for feeding me!
I overbought blueberries and turned them into Blueberry Limeade. Life gave me limes and I made limeade.
I made a batch of pickled onions and put them on everything.
Cracklin’ chicken is back in the rotation. Mom’s green salad for good measure.
I had an avocado that made me quite excited.
And oldie/goodie. Berry Baked Oatmeal!
Long live burger salad. I had quite a few of these this month. Tots too.
My crispy salt & pepper shrimp won dinner.
My husband made my birthday the best birthday dinner.
Put GF everything bagels from TJS into the rotation. That was a good week.
Had lots of seafood this month thanks to my Uncle.
Cold green grapes got me through some hot ass August days.

My movement streak is going strong!! I hit 213 consecutive days of moving my body for at least 30 minutes daily/closing my rings. I have been tracking it with my monthly printable.
I hope your September goes well! Take good care of YOU and remember to leave a trail of magic behind this month. Your future self will thank you!
