Hobonichi Cousin 2025- Months
a page of art per month
Even though I already work on a monthly spread for my Currently Workbooks, I can’t just leave a month page blank in my Hobonichi Cousin (I use it as a daily art practice).
This is what a “month” page looks like in the planner. I suppose some people use the blank page as a space to write monthly goals/to-do list. Historically, I turn it into an opportunity to play.

First off, my word for 2025 was CONNECT, so this is how I made note of that for the year at the beginning of my hobo.
January was a mix of my favorite silver pen from the dollar store and some Tombow brush pens.
February is all about love, so I took one of the postcards I use for my Etsy shop and added some flair to it. I think there’s probably a combo of black gesso and pen!
March is when the blossoms really show up. This year, I reunited with my stamp collection and added these cuties to the branch I drew. We had cherry blossoms at our wedding (in March 2006!), so they’re a special symbol of Spring for me.
April art included a hand that was in one of my manifestation kits this year. I drew a flower because we got more flowers than showers in April.
May was full of pen play. I experimented with crossing pens to create new colors. I am obsessed with the risograph effect.
June is full of color. I used some of the flower stickers from my manifestation kits to brighten up the page.
July is a simple spread with transparent dot stickers I thrifted.
August spread combines stickers (from my thermal printer), I printed from our monthly journaling prompts on Substack, a transparent sticky note, and paint pens.
September spread is a combination of black gesso, colored pencils, an index card, and heart washi tape! I love back-to-school shopping in September.
October is pumpkin season! I drew some pumpkins and falling leaves with Tombow brush pens!
November served as a reminder to make a list of all the things I am grateful for. We worked on a gratitude list together in Practice Pages in November.
December was a reminder that the biggest gift you can give is your full presence to the season. Your presence is the present!
All the months! I’ll share my favorite journal spreads from my hobo next.

Hi Tracey, thanks for showing us your art🥰 lately, you write a lot about your Word of the year. That's so inspiring! But I wonder: How do you chose it?💫
Hiii Tracy! That looks lovely, I feel like that type of hand "sticker" it's so you haha ♥️🙈 I never has a Hobonichi because I struggle using agendas but might give it a go because the way you use it seems quite flexible! x
