Love this! I have a question about your process and the timing of your journaling. Do you put your thoughts in at the end of the day to recap your day? Or just whenever you feel like picking it up? I feel like I use my Hobo Techo Cousin for "to-dos" and would love to make mine pretty like yours, but I can barely make myself pick it up off my work desk (and I'm not even really good at putting my daily to-dos in it). I'd love more inspiration about how to actually FORCE myself to write/draw/use this thing! lol 😏🤣
it honestly depends on where it is in my house. It's in one of two places.
if I leave it in a bag for too long (took it on the go), I misplace it and break the routine.
Sometimes I check in in the morning and make a to-do list in there and then have it on my counter as a reference to look at throughout the day.
sometimes I do it at the end of my day as a way to unwind.
my advice is to make a "station" to use it in. Put your supplies there and set timers on your phone to check-in. The only way to keep going is to build a ritual and routine!
This is such great advice (about the station and the timers). I've been on the fence about joining the weekly check in group - because i always feel like my life is soooo crazy and I will never end up making it. But I wonder if it could be the forcing function to get me to start actually using this thing and planning/executing the things I want to do in my life. 🤔🤔🤔❤️❤️❤️
You can start anytime! There’s real power in setting your intentions for the week within a supportive group. I wouldn’t have made it through as many weeks as I did in my planner last year without Self-Check-In.
Hi, I love your pages, so colourful and arty. I have a Hobonici Cousin for the first time this year, but I’m more of a lots of words journaler, so it’s almost the opposite of yours. I am very nosey though and love seeing what others are using their pages for. 😊
I love it. 🥰 it’s the paper! I spent far too long trying to decide what to use the sections for, as I use my phone as my main planner, so wanted it to combine daily tasks/appointments with journaling about my day, quotes etc. I don’t really use stickers, but have fallen in love with the transparent washi stickers from Japan etc. I’d say I’m as happy using it as I’ve ever been.
great inspiration here Tracy! i’ve been following you since way back when you were podcasting with Joy the Baker. Cooper and i were kindred Patriots spirits too! so i’m thrilled to be part of this community today. the black gesso is a game changer for me. i love black backgrounds from time to time but hate the smell and bleed of thick sharpie markers. can’t wait to start using the gesso now. be well. stay curious. 🌍
So inspired by you always but especially your hobo!!! I had one the last two years and went with a new brand this year and this just made me miss my Hobonichi so much that I may have to go for the spring start one!!
